For years I tried to get OpenBSD to function as a RELIABLE AP for wireless clients and I was never successful--regardless of what driver and hardware combination I used. Unless you are able to debug alongside a willing developer, I highly recommend looked elsewhere for an AP. On the other hand, I've had good success with several driver and hardware combinations when OpenBSD is functioning as a wireless client.
