i forgot to add: YMMV.
those postfix settings have for the current week rejected 69084
connections and counting.  this particular box has a mere ~350 users.

it is for me as i watch my logs.  your logs are probably different.

yes, i ocasionally write letters to repeating cluless offenders
(a cronjob combs the logs) but it's too some degree self-regulating,
as users write to their own admins when they get an obscure error
in their email clients every single time.

of course its true downside (just like greyfiltering's) is that it
needs a considerable amount of babysitting.  but it's worth it for me.
