On the contrary, I find OpenBSD remarkably user-friendly. Almost
everything I want is already in base, most things are set up with
intelligent and safe defaults, I can't even remember the last time I had
to even *have* an xorg.conf, let alone delve into mode line hell, I
could go on.

The thing of significance in all this is, consider the userbase;

Technically, the stated userbase of OpenBSD is: The OpenBSD developers.
I strongly suspect they find it immensely user-friendly. Luckily for me,
I value similar traits in my OS's interface and mindset, and as long as
we share those values, I will continue to thankfully ride on their
coat-tails. [0]
