I have a DVDRAM drive with the following dmesg cd0 at scsibus0 targ 0 lun 0: <HL-DT-ST, DVDRAM GSA-4083N, 1.08> SCSI0 5/cdrom removable and I have not had any problems installing OpenBSD 4.2 on the machine (a ThinkPad T60).
