I am using, actually, the default xorg.conf that comes with the system. I am using an ACPI enabled GENERIC.mp kernel. And, I mean, literally, 1440x1050. I am running on a 17" Macbook Pro, and the BIOS seems to have an entry for that. Unfortunately, as you know, this is not the native resolution.
