I do use both so I realise that OpenVPN is easy, but ipsec.conf is
just as easy (easier, in the case of public-key) and doesn't need you
to touch anything out of base OS. If it were the case on other OS,
there would be little need for OpenVPN...

Unless I'm mistaken, see isakmpd(8), option -N.
