Hi,
I'm still getting these "data modified on freelist" messages but now I've been
able to pinpoint whereabouts it may lie. I run a script every minute that
tcpresets a connection and then brings the pppoe0 interface down and back up
in order to re-authenticate and get a new IP address.
When this script runs (I call it rotate-conn.sh) not long after the ifconfig
pppoe0 down the message "data modified on freelist" appears. Making me believe
it's either in tcpreset(8) or in pppoe(4) that causes this. I'm going to send
a grep -4i "data modified" /var/log/all and after that a dmesg. The kernel is
GENERIC but I recompiled it as NEPTUNE in order to shut up the pppoe0 up
messages on console.
