I have upgraded a laptop to OpenBSD 8.0-current to do some testing.
Remote sound playback to a 7.9 server no longer seems to work. The
.sndio/cookie has been synced beforehand. Is this expected due to
internal protocol changes?
By the way, remote playback the other way round (from the 7.9 server to
the 8.0-current laptop) works as expected. As does the "remote" playback
from the laptop to itself.
On the remote 7.9 machine, sndiod is started with
# sndiod -L - -f rsnd/0 -s default -ddd
On the laptop, playback is started (using sox as a client):
$ AUDIODEVICE=snd@remote/0 play test.mp3
play FAIL sox_ng: Sorry, there is no default audio device configured
On the server, I get the following output:
