Maybe .net and .com are just not meant for HTTPS? Have you actually
seen either of them used anywhere?
I have not seen them anywhere, no. It was based on a technical
observation that a) they all point to the same IPv4 address, b)
accessing any of them by http does redirect to https and c) it's a Let's
encrypt certificate which is free and allows SANs.
