Around EuroBSDcon 2025 I asked Henning Brauer about claims that OpenBSD has a “bad” filesystem compared to Linux or FreeBSD.

His response was essentially: don’t worry about it, just use the system. If the machine loses power, let fsck do its job and continue.

After about a year of use, including a few unclean shutdowns, I haven’t encountered any filesystem-related issues that would make me question His advice.

I've noticed fsck and FFSv2 have become increasingly more stable in the
past few releases. Glad you noticed it too <3
