Another BTW:

        # fw_update -i
        fw_update: unknown option -- -i
        usage: fw_update [-adFnv] [-p path] [driver | file ...]

The man page says

        SYNOPSIS
             fw_update [-adinv] [-p path] [driver ...]

What is -F supposed to do? What happened to the -i?
