So, I love vi-mode in my shell and find that setting it with EDITOR= and/or VISUAL= is quite simple and straightforward. But I can appreciate that it's a drag for those who want to start vi for an editor but want emacs-style command line editing. I wouldn't mind having `set -o vi` in my .kshrc; what's preventing us from getting rid of this much hated feature?
