My CPE sometimes won't give me a default route through SLAAC. I'm not
sure you're using it, but I presume you are. The only way I have to kind
of assure a default route is using a DHCPv6 client. Even then, if your
CPE follows RFC 7084, you might end up with a situation where your
router doesn't have global IPv6 connectivity and will stop advertising
itself as a default route. I'm yet to find a CPE that is completely RFC
7084 compliant. Luckily enough, many CPE responds to this address as
your default route (fe80::1). If it didn't, you would have a lot of
problems.
