I've been using amd64 snapshots on an early MacPro and had mixed
results. The base itself is solid. Many packages less so. Browsers in
particular (I mostly use xombrero with firefox as a fallback) are prone
to crashing w/core files. In the snapshot I tried last night (dmesg
below) a new behavior is that the browser will lock up, run away with 3
of the 4 CPUs, and even kill -9 doesn't work. I've seen this with both
xombrero and firefox today. As I'm trying to use this as a desktop
workstation this gets to be annoying.
Is there any reason to think that this system might do better with i386
snapshots?
