Yep, running the postinstall script did help. However it may be the 1st step on a dangerous road. I believe people who prefer MSYS instead of cygwin are those appreciating its simplicity, including the install process: Just unpack it and use it. Be careful to not create something what provides less features then cygwin, while being as complex as cygwin to install and use. > > * The package contains some remnants from your machine which > > should be probably cleaned before releasing: > > -- home/alexey > > -- shortcuts "mintty.exe-____.lnk" or "MSys2.lnk", both > > pointing somewhere into C:\test > > This is shortcuts is for minty.exe (in bin directory) and for console2 > (in lib/Console2). You can fix them and start MSYS2 from this shortcuts. Consider that every potential user probably knows how to create a shortcut, creating it is about the same amount of work as fixing it, and if he wants it, he may have different idea where to place it (e.g. desktop). And it seems strange to distribute broken shortcuts on the first place. If you really want them, then at least they should point to some directory which can be considered default for MSYS installation (e.g. C:\msys instead of C:\test).
