I was trying to get an old laptop set up with software for a Linux operating
system. Audacity was just too much for the machine to handle in a
reasonable timeframe, so I was looking for alternatives that might work well
on older machines. Came across mhwaveedit and was very impressed with what
it can do. I've been trying to get software I like to run on Windows over
to Linux, but it's also nice to be able to go the other way, especially
since my newer machines with decent specifications are all still running
Windows. I couldn't help wondering if mhwaveedit would work on Windows as
well as Linux. It looks like a really nice application with some great
functionality. It would certainly make a good, more light weight
alternative to Audacity and needed functionality seems easier to get to than
most wave editor/recorder programs.

Wanted to know if anyone's been able to get a version of mhwaveedit working
on Windows, maybe even just a cygwin version. Am curious if it would be
possible. I did try compiling the program, just for the heck of it, with
mingw and msys. Was able to get it to build okay after some tweaking, but
at the moment it crashes when I try to open a file. Guess I'm just curious
if anyone else is interested in whether or not the program would compile on
other platforms besides Linux.

Best wishes.
