fix a bunch of errors, detected by cppcheck
during a check of the current git head with the static code analyser (cppcheck:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/cppcheck/) the tool discoverd a bunch of
resource and memory leaks.
Please refer the attched patch a few of them, but not all.
