You can easily have both names as below.
enum foo {
...
PIPE_SWIZZLE_X,
PIPE_SWIZZLE_RED = PIPE_SWIZZLE_X,
PIPE_SWIZZLE_Y,
PIPE_SWIZZLE_GREEN = PIPE_SWIZZLE_Y,
.....
};
