Keep in mind that this is a very very green project still. The last time I looked at it the initial image barely had much beyond a shell. I think some people have gotten X11 working on it now.

There isn't much of an API to speak of at this point, I don't think there is a UI even that's established, but it should be heavily based on Qt, if you want to start playing around with Qt that's a good starting point.
