You might confuse this with the Semantic Bundle Rob pointed at in his
e-mail. However I do no longer recommend the bundle since it was not
updated in quite some time.

No, for Composer you do not need sudo, actually it is discouraged to use
it with root rights. Well if your shared hosting offers Composer this is
they way to go.
