I suggest looking at open source Enterprise Content Management  
applications. One that's designed to work well with MediaWiki is  
Alfresco, www.alfresco.com.

Another similar option is O3Spaces, designed to complement OpenOffice  
originally, but just as good as a general purpose ECM: www.o3spaces.com
