If you ran the web installer, there is no need to run update.php 
separately, as it is included in the web installer.  *However*, if you 
restored the database from a prior version *after* running the 
installer, then you *do* have to run update.php on the restored, older 
database to bring it up to the most recent version.

There are options, such as PHP shell (http://phpshell.sourceforge.net/) 
that might work for your hosted service if they do not provide a means 
for you to run a script.

Once you have run the update.php script, check the database again to see 
if it needs to be repaired.
