I guess it depends how you mean it, according to the Wikipedia it's a Hawaiian word for fast. It's also a backronym for What I Know Is. However, apparently someone is trying to make a game called Wiki. If they do, I have no idea what rules apply.
I wouldn't worry about it. ---Mike -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Sarel Wesssels (Agri Wiki) Sent: Thursday, February 05, 2009 5:58 AM To: MediaWiki announcements and site admin list Subject: [Mediawiki-l] The use of the word WIKI Sorry if this is the wrong forum... Is there a limitation on the use of the word WIKI? We registered a website, and it includes the word WIKI in the name. Can Wikipedia come back later and say we can't use the word WIKI because they own it, or we have to pay licence fees, etc. Thank you.
