Apakah solusi terbaiknya nya jika port 25 di block oleh ISP atau
layanan Cloud.
ISP atau layanan cloud tidak akan sesukanya memblock outgoing/incoming
tcp port 25, karena smtp port 25 digunakan untuk pertukaran DATA antara
Internet Mail Server.
Kalau mereka sampai memblock tcp port 25 (SMTP port) tentu ada alasan
yang kuat, misalkan:
1. Koneksi internet yang digunakan adalah Wired Broadband (FO) atau ADSL
atau Cable Modem yang pakai dynamic IP.
2. Koneksi internet yang digunakan bukan untuk Internet Mail Server.
Hanya Internet mail server yang perlu smtp port 25 (in/out) untuk
berkomunikasi dengan internet mail server lain di internet.
Email client atau Internet Server lain, tidak perlu tcp port 25.
3. Internet Mail Severnya tidak broadcast spam atau worm virus (Spam
Bots) atau melakukan kegiatan hacking (DDOS) sehingga tidak masuk dalam
blacklistnya DNSBL, URIBL dls.

Singkatnya, kalau outbound/inbound tcp port 25 (SMTP) di block maka
hubungi ISP atau cloud hoster untuk klarifikasi alasan di block, dan
melakukan perbaikkan (jika perlu) agar smtp port 25 di open kembali.
Apa kita bisa menggunakan custom port ? ( bagaiman
caranya?) atau memang harus menggunakan layanan SMTP relay.
Secara umum, Internet Mail Server bertindak sebagai:
- server
- client
Sebagai server untuk pertukaran data antar mail server tidak bisa
diganti portnya, harus pakai tcp port 25.
Akan tetapi sebagai client pertukaran data tidak langsung ke server
tujuan (receiver MX host), hanya bisa ke SMTPRelay (aka smarthost),
dalam hal ini menggunakan tcp port 587.

designated server then it will be moved into the retry system and
MDaemon will continue to attempt to deliver it according to the

Ini adalah kombinasi dari 2 opsi diatas.
First Attempt delivery pakai Direct Delivery, kalau gagal akan relay
melalui smarthost.
Adakah rekomendasi layanan SMTP relay yg bagus.
Semua SMTPrelay yang ada diluar negeri bagus, karena tidak terkena
batasan/filter oleh KemenKominfo (sekarang Komdigi) Pemerintah RI
(Internet Positive).
Dan karena MDaemon sangat fleksibel maka bahkan bisa pakai Mail Hoster
macam google workspace, outlook.com atau amazona.com sebagai SMTPrelay.
SMTPRelay di Indonesia yang bagus hanya yang servernya diletakkan di IDC
(Internet Data Center) Indonesia (aka cloud), hanya server di IDC yang
tidak terkena aturan KemenKominfo untuk Internet Positive (DNS traffic
tidak di filter).
Server di IDC Indonesia juga tidak terkena bandwidth meter.
