Will asked,
| it seems when i record a mini disc, the music only plays out of one of
| the ear phones, the left one. is there a way to make play out of both?
First check the earphones in another piece of equipment and make sure that
the right side is working. For the rest of this post, let's assume that it
is, and that the earphones are not the problem.
If you're making the recordings from analog input, there's a simple explana-
tion with a simple fix: you're probably recording through a monaural cable.
A mono cable has two conductors (on each plug, you can see only one black in-
sulator band), and the active one lines up with the left channel of a three-
conductor stereo cable (on each plug of a three-conductor cable, you can see
two black insulator bands to keep the three conductors apart). If it is a
stereo cable, maybe there's a break in the right channel conductor at some
point. Either get a working stereo cable or put the recorder into mono mode
during recording so that, on playback, the left channel's music will go to
both ears.
If the earphones are OK and you're making those recordings from digital input
(you said "when I record a MiniDisc," so we'll rule out the chance that it
happens when you listen to premastered discs), then something is terribly
wrong that needs professional repair.
