I'm considering selling my MZ-R55. It has a problem which I will address
first in all fairness. Ocassionally, when you insert an MD it will spin
around and around making a clicking noise until finally th TOC will read
disc error. This is annoying and is solved by reinserting the disc as
soon as you realize what is happening. It's not a big problem, it's just
annoying.

It is a silver unit in perfect condition physically and the remote is
slightly surface scratched, but completely readable from normal use.
There is an extra NiMh battery in addition to the original. There are
two soft leather cases from Servired cases included (one fits the MZ-R55
without the addtional AA battery pack, the other is longer and fits the
unit with the battery pack attached. Both were custom made for this unit
and there are two soft leather add ons as well which will each hold two
MD's in their cases. The cases are in excellent shape. The original
manual , box and AC adapter/recharger are included. It is a U.S. model.
The unit is difficult to pack exactly as it was sold, because the
cardboard which holds the original accessories is hard to put together
the same way it was shipped, but I will include the original box and egg
shell packaging.

I am asking $ 300 which is a bit much for a used unit that sells new for
$ 350, but the battery and leather cases cost an additional $ 100 when
purchased. I am somewhat negotiable.

I have other electronics for sale as well, mainly a 35 inch Inteq IQ3597
TV. If you don't live in Southern California, don't even bother because
it must weigh 150 pounds. But it is a great TV and I recently replaced
it with a widescreen Toshiba RPTV.

I do lot of titling and reordering of tracks which sometimes wipes out
all the names on my MDS-JA20ES. They're still there, but the MDS-JA20ES
won't read them so I rewrite them on the MZR55 which is a time consuming
process and just involves renaming everything exactly as it was, then
the MDS-JA20ES can once again read the new names. I do this because I
always label tracks with their current Billboard Hot 100 positions
(which change weekly as a song moves its way towards its peak position)
and move the "suckier bomb" type songs (known as stiffs) to the back of
the disc where they belong most of the time. Often, a song you dislike
will really grow on you and also become a hit while others just don't
wear well at all, but I keep them on the disc anyway, just in case I
want to hear or play them at sometime. (I record an average of 50 new
tracks a week to MD counting alternate versions, LP versions, radio
edits, dance mixes, etc. This includes only new music, not recent or
older music.

Because of the name erase problems, I think I would like to buy another
Sharp portable with the moji stamp feature and save myself some time in
the future by using the same disc over and over just to copy names to
before I make my titling edits.
