Mortar Board National Senior Honor Society
Mortar Board is currently recruiting for the 2003-2004 school year!
Mortar Board National Senior Honor Society recognizes college seniors for academic
excellence, outstanding leadership abilities, and unwavering commitment to community
service. Mortar Board is an honor society that not only acknowledges the achievements
of members but also seeks to give back to the community that has fostered our growth
over the past few years.
We sponsor an annual teddy bear drive Oski Cubs For Kids. This past semester, we
collected over 700 stuffed animals from student groups and local businesses, which
were donated to the Oakland Children's Hospital and local homeless shelters during the
holiday season. In addition, we grant two Scholar Athlete Awards annually to athletes
who support our ideals of service, scholarship, and leadership. This semester, UC
Berkeley Mortar Board hopes to become more involved in our national philanthropy
project Reading is Leading, which is a commitment to bettering our communities through
literacy and education.
