Even with DBMGui it's no problem:

Start a Recovery with Initialization, recover the databackup.
After this you can choose either to
1. restart the database
2. continue with logrecover (if the backuphistory contains some)
3. cancel

1. is not what you want
2. is not what you're able to after creating a new database
3. should work as expected: Leave the database as it is after
   the datarecovery.
