Error "basis_err 3700" is a pretty basic internal error code, meaning most of
the time something like "backup failed". Please have a look into dbm.ebl or
dbm.ebp to find out, why the backup tool failed. This was the reason the backup
got cancelled and provoked the internal 3700 that was translated to the
external error -903 ("Host file I/O error", host file being the pipe in this
case).
If you don't find any clue in the log files, send them to the mailing list.

That error is (AFAIR) a resource error.
What are the messages above that error? Maybe you can post the relevant
parts of the knldiag to the list.
