I've installed mason on a few systems before, both at home and on remote
servers, and never had much of a problem.

Now I've installed Fedora 14 on a laptop and after adding mod_perl,
mason, and some mason stuff I transferred from an F10 box, I get a
weird issue: "Cannot create directory /etc/http/conf/mason/obj,
permission denied for user apache, group apache".

However, /etc/http/conf/mason is owned apache.apache and set
0744, exactly like it is on the other systems.

I did notice another strange issue whereby the F14 apache could not
open an http.conf that I swapped in (same reason, permission denied),
altho it was set with identical ownership and permissions (meaning I
had to diff and copy the config in). That is similarly bizarre.

So I dunno what the problem is, I suppose it could be some new fangled
security thing (albeit a very stupid one which uses some hidden file
property not available to stat), I will ask fedora and apache people
too but if anyone has any idea, your input is appreciated.
