SOMEWHERE in Bouie's very interesting and convincing piece is a link to a
(VERY LONG) interview between Ezra Klein and some Trumpie theorist ---
Klein wants to REALLY FIND OUT the "real" justification (from a "policy
wonk" point of view) for Trump's attack on Iran --- Well, I
read the damn thing --- pretty much a waste of time. The "theorist"
(whoever she is) is trying to put lipstick on a pig --- and I think Klein
lets her get away with too much.

the best answer as to WHY Trump did it is to get EPSTEIN off the front
pages ...

simple -- (simplistic?) --- but I think more right than wrong --

there is NO COHERENT "pro-imperialist" argument for Trump's using the
military as a toy ... the attack on IRAN cannot succeed --- and when Trump
declares "victory" and "gets out" rebuilding the world economy will take a
pretty long time ....

I THINK THE FOLKS AROUND HIM (Trump) AND THE FOLKS WHO PUT TOGETHER PROJECT
2025 WANT TO USHER IN FASCISM --THE PEOPLES' resistance is what is causing
his "failures" --- but it remains touch and go --- and probably will remain
so through the 2028 election (unless the Republican surprise folks and
refuse to nominate a Trumpie)
