Dear S John A I,

*Support the 350,000+ Haitians
<https://default.salsalabs.org/T2cfcaba8-57bc-4925-adb9-50ca1e1ce31b/f602c1dc-222a-4042-adb3-a7c9fa714beb>
with Temporary Protected Status (TPS) struggling to remain in the United
States.* TPS is a U.S. humanitarian program that allows people from
designated countries where it is unsafe to return to legally live and work
in the U.S. Many have lived here for years: raising families, contributing
to their communities and building lives in this country. Yet their future
is now uncertain.

The administration has attempted to end TPS protections for Haitians,
putting hundreds of thousands of people at risk of being deported to Haiti.
But Haiti is still actively in conflict and sending families back under
current conditions would be both *cruel and inhumane*.

In fact, this morning, *Human Rights Watch*
<https://default.salsalabs.org/T436cd06a-12a6-4e8e-a43d-947a04c4daca/f602c1dc-222a-4042-adb3-a7c9fa714beb>
released a new report that Haitian security forces and collaborators
*perpetuated
drone strikes, killing at least 1,243 people, including children, between
March 2025 and January 2026*. This violence highlights the ongoing danger
and injustice that civilians in Haiti continue to face.

A federal judge recently paused the administration’s order to end TPS for
Haitians, but the administration continues to appeal. The clock is ticking
and now is the time for Congress to act.

You can help make the difference. *Contact your representative today and
urge them to support Discharge Petition #15
<https://default.salsalabs.org/Tf4bb185f-6d71-47af-907a-2c205bf6c8e5/f602c1dc-222a-4042-adb3-a7c9fa714beb>
which would cause a vote on legislation for an extension of TPS for
Haitians
<https://default.salsalabs.org/T2b59d152-c9ad-4011-8d7d-883a60e84abd/f602c1dc-222a-4042-adb3-a7c9fa714beb>.*
So far, 172 members of Congress have signed on to discharge petition, and
we need to reach 218 signatories to succeed. Congress must step up to
provide protection for Haitian families who cannot safely return home. Ask
your representative to act now.

In peace,
