This is an important discussion. I totally agree...Israeli forcing policy has 
always been based on anarchic chaotic conditions in neighboring states unless 
they are VERY stable through repressive regimes that are willing not to attack 
Israel. See Egypt, Jordan, and most notably Syria before the civil war there. 
Thus they wanted a weak Iraq and now, preferably, a weak Syria. Both in some 
ways they have helped achieve or, support the chaos in those countries because 
they can't develop a hostile, strong military. Iran is no different.

That puts them at odds with Trumpist policies that want control more than 
anything, preferably an "Assad" like figure that he can "negotiate" with.
