I agree. But why were no goals achieved? At this stage of the struggle, it's
time to critique what has been done. We should reconsider the strategy and
tactics of the movement so, if mistakes are made, we can take steps to correct
them. I'm referring to both in the Occupied Lands and in our domestic support
for the struggle, which is what I have some personal experience with.

It has been mentioned on this list that the pro-Palestine movement in the US
never managed to build a bridge to the US masses. The marches demanded a "Free
Palestine," a place that is not on maps, and flags that most people in the US
don't recognize; rallies usually included at least one speech in Arabic, a
language that about 0.2% of the US people can understand. In retrospect, the
movement should have focused on the most relevant and important US demand to
"stop arming Israel," and it should have been led by US labor groups (no matter
how few), civil rights organizations, activists, religious, students, and other
groups. Slogans need to be easily understood, and demands should be crucial to
the outcome of the struggle.

Fighting harder and never giving up on a failed strategy is no virtue in my
book. What are the transitional demands in the Occupied Lands and Israel?
Whatever they are, protecting the population from utter destruction of civil
society must be among them.
