Hi, Very happy to see this initiative, thank you André and your designer.
I agree with many of the comments. From a marketing perspective, a branding guideline should exist to consider the following: - decide if the monkey is an integral part of the brand and image of ACS. Should the logo always include him/her or will there be two versions with, without as there currently are. - define a colour palette including a colour (blue), white, and dark colour (for a light or white background). - create a horizontal (#1, #2) AND a stacked version (my vote is #7 because I think the monkey's hand should be inside the border - it looks cleaner). - I agree with Giles' and Tim's comments that there should be version with role-type words ie "powered by, contributor to" large enough to read, as well as without - agree with Will that Apache CloudStack should generally be mentioned (I think a sticker version can be made a little more fun and simple). - my concern with #3 and #9 is that the image is very wide, which makes it less versatile. Questions: What is the difference between #2 and #8? I only see a slight difference in text alignment in the blue version of #8. Also, does this monkey have a name? :) I was under the impression that Apache CloudStack's branding was independent of the ASF's? For brand continuity, I would suggest it remain that way, rather than mixing the two brands.
