Hello Marketing Team,

I'd like to propose a year-end award for the most active members of
the Cassandra community. This is a sort of informal and social online
event that could be scheduled before or after the Christmas holidays
to recognize all the work that has been done by the community,
especially by the most active community members.

>From a marketing perspective, the benefits can be:
- Showcase the health of the community;
- Encourage community users and contributors to reach new goals by
recognizing their work;
- Special promotional awards to promote the most valuable features of
the 5.0 release;

As an award we can present, I suggest creating and giving away virtual
online badges. This approach has worked quite well for the Apache
Ignite community, where I have been involved for a while, and it would
be good to see something like this in our community as well. An
example of such badges can be found here [1] (they can be added to a
LinkedIn profile by the person who received them).

We can come up with our own badge names both formal and informal, that
fit our purpose: Cassandra's Fortune Teller (a person who has fixed
the most bugs), or Cassandra Top Contributor 2023 etc.

I have collected a few platforms that will help us to implement this
proposal, but, we are not limited to only this list of platforms:

credly's recognition platform
https://info.credly.com/product/acclaim

Open Badge Factory
https://openbadgefactory.com/en/

I know that these platforms are not free to use, but my search query
didn't include the free-to-use criteria of the search. The goal was to
show the best side of the idea, and if we agree on the next steps,
I'll try to find other platforms to consider.

Please, share your thoughts.
