Dear List, I am involved in a project to develop a disaster preparedness and response (flooding) in a province in Mozambique. It will be a combination of a local population awareness and responsive capability and high tech. The high tech approch assumes the existence of detailed grid elevation data. Such data can be used to generate scenarios in Vertical Mapper (water level) and what the implications are in the landscape. Does anyone know whether some detailed satellite elevation data exist? NASA had a satellite in orbit earlier this year that was supposed to collect very detailed elevation data...
