Say you have a DEV MapGuide Server and a PROD MapGuide Server, you can author up all your layers/maps/etc on the DEV instance, create a mgp package that you can the load into the PROD instance and have all your data/layers/maps/etc in there without having to repeat all this work.
So an .mgp package is only a requirement if you have the need to move data from one MapGuide Server to another. - Jackie -- View this message in context: http://osgeo-org.1560.x6.nabble.com/mgp-with-Feature-Source-Oracle-tp5319793p5319802.html Sent from the MapGuide Users mailing list archive at Nabble.com. _______________________________________________ mapguide-users mailing list [email protected] https://lists.osgeo.org/mailman/listinfo/mapguide-users
