In my case it was a totally legitimate and very professional company. They
were doing various technical assessments for buildings. Maybe they just
accidentally located their site in .online, not knowing about the fraud
sites there...

I don't remember the name now, but I have seen at least one big,
recognizable, advertised everywhere on TV etc. online store that had their
domain in .shop. Never used it though, as I buy very little online at all,
and they had nothing that was interesting for me.

I have personally visited only one website in .top, it was something like
Wikileaks but on a much smaller scale, and had their website there in an
attempt to avoid censorship (their previous domains were taken down). As I
have already written, never saw any mail from this TLD.
