Whenever seeing duplicates behaving like this, it's a good idea to enable the “Source Mailbox” column in the message list. It's very likely that the messages are not located in the same mailbox -- but somehow the server sees it as the same mailbox. Is Gmail involved in this issue? If yes, then this part of the manual is very important to understand what might be going on: https://manual.mailmate-app.com/account_setup#gmail If no, then let me know what the Source Mailbox column tells you.
