Well, I just reinstalled Mahogany (and got the latest w32 snapshot).
Immediately upon starting, it brought up a dialog box saying
"Downloading 26750 headers"
with an estimated completion time of 5 minutes.
The dialog title says
"IMAP Server/Boost"
It actually appears to be downloading *all* of the headers of the
newsgroup news://gmane.comp.lib.boost.devel, which somehow got
categorized underneath my IMAP server in Mahogany's leftmost pane.
