Issue I see are bugs found that require a few code lines to fix that,
because of the Q&A procedure, are tackled in the next release, while
they could be fixed in the testing phase if one could keep the votes.

I understand the issue, even a small innocent fix, may trigger new
bugs. What I miss in the testing procedure is the link to the repo and
the commits they are build from. Not that I think that testers should
look a the code, to judge the app, but some may want to do that, esp.
may want to look at the diffs compared to upstream and/or previous
releases.
Yes, may make promoting even take a bit longer. I just think that we
need more developers to look at each other code.
