Hi all! Soon I will receive my first Internet Tablet, N800. But already now, the notion of being able to write 3D and media processing code and games using the DSP (if necessary - I have never done that before) has me intrigued. Questions arise, which seems hard to answer through searching on maemo.org:
In the case of OMAP 2420 the 2D/3D accelerator and IVE are in my opinion much more interesting candidates for game and media programming. If only there was documentation available. 2) I can't find any specific documentation about DSP-programming neither
here nor on TI's own site. Didn't TI used to have open specs for all their chips? Confused...
According to that block diagram it is a C55-core. Documentation for those is here: http://focus.ti.com/dsp/docs/dspsupporttechdocs.tsp?sectionId=3&tabId=409&techDoc=6&documentCategoryId=6&familyId=325 See SPRU393 and 371 to get started. In addition, I believe this is used: http://dspgateway.sourceforge.net/pub/index.php. - Juha -- Madness takes it's toll. Please have exact change.
