We used to have Abiword that can handle both .doc and .odt for the OS2005 version, but I don't know if there is someone working on it for the OS2006. I am currently working on the port of Gnumeric and hope to release it real soon. I also would like to know if someone has started to work on Abiword for OS2006. I could help if needed.
