-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I didn't think to check /proc/filesystems. I did just now, and I do not see nfs.
What I did do was follow the HowTo KernelCompilation page on the wiki that outlines how to modify the kernel and install it, doing my best guesses at adapting the parts that refer to 1.1 to 2.0 beta versions. This also possibly confirms that NFS is not there, because I find that the n770_defconfig file in the su-18-kernel-2.6.16 package has NFS completely disabled. So I enabled NFS client support and rebuild the kernel and package as per the howto. I flashed the kernel image to my 770, and copied the nfs.ko file to /root on the device. The new kernel seems to work, and uname -a seems to verify that it is indeed my build of the kernel that is running (based on the date), but if I try to insmod the nfs.ko file it does not work. I get the following: > Nokia770-23:~# insmod ./nfs.ko Using ./nfs.ko insmod: cannot insert > `./nfs.ko': Unknown symbol in module (-1): No such file or > directory I'm experienced with Linux and kernel development, but I'm still new to the 770 (also to debian flavor of linux), so I'm not sure what is going on here yet. - -- Buck Adrian Neumaier wrote: > Am Samstag, 10.
