I'm also trying to accomplish the same thing. I want to capture the
Home-key from application, ie prevent the system to display the desktop
when the user presses the key.
First, I tried to remove the keysnooper installed by the Hildon framework:

In emulator (i386 SDK and Xephyr) removing that snooper seemed to do the
trick, but not in the device.
Then I found this in the Hildon Navigator sources:

Is there some way to prevent Navigator receiving those Home key DBus events?
