Hello,
I’m new here. I think it’s possible to connect a external usb-hdd to a
770. It would be very useful for playing mp3s and watching videos.
You could use a webcam or a keyboard. With a little web server you
could host a website with live pictures from your webcam.
My pc is using win xp. I’ve downloaded the live cd. It’s great but I
think kde would be better for this. The current version of knoppix
includes more functions and packages. So I will make an other live cd
based on knoppix.
I think it’s impossible to compile maemo for windows?
Changing the base of the live CD to Knoppix won't be a big deal. But
size would grow significantly to about 1100MB which would require a DVD
instead of a CD.
The 0.5.1a live CD contains Samba/OpenSSH/Xvnc so its easily possible to
work in your windows environment and just use the live CD for compiling
and running maemo stuff. You may run the live CD in VMware, minimize the
window and connect to the live system over the simulated network. Since
VMware allows to freeze the state of a machine, changes won't get lost.
Another way of making the development on Windows easier might be
CoLinux. I will try to find out in the next week, if it is possible to
use scratchbox under CoLinux.

Mattias
