Oh, way better news. 

BasiliskII builds and runs, including the JIT, with clang-3.7 at least, when 
it's held to i386 arch.

Apparently nobody has been able to do that before, assuming Dr. Google is 
correct.

Built with arch x86_64 it runs (fairly quickly) without the JIT, but enabling 
the JIT crashes it (no surprise).

That will make the portfile much much easier to finish.
