We've had a similar issue, but it was the ISP, with a spam limit - the more email addresses you send to in a single email, the slower it goes, until eventually it just times out. I wouldn't be surprised if they have such a slow-down block and just don't want to advertise it. You might try using Netscape mail or another mail program to test this out and see if the same thing results...
