I am on OS 9.2 and running OE 5.0.6 (latest version That I know of).. If it makes any difference I am on a G4-500 with 768 meg memory
The "different" behavior I am seeing started I *THINK* (not sure) after uppgrading to 9.2 When quitting OE after running for say 36 hours The I/O to the drive is extremely intense for about a minute (maybe longer). I can really hear the head accessing the drive INTENSELY. I do send/recieve well over 1500 emails a day. The number of attachments I send/receive is about 500 (a Day) this is a rough approximation. Has anyone else noticed this behavior? Any ideas as to why this is happening?
